Mercedes-Benz unveils ‘The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury’
At the 2018 Auto China event being held in Beijing this week, German automaker Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a plush new Mercedes-Maybach all-electric SUV concept --- ‘The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury.’
In unveiling the new Mercedes-Maybach all-electric SUV concept, Mercedes-Benz said that four compact permanent-magnet synchronous motors comprise the vehicle’s all-electric powertrain.
The automaker also revealed that the all-wheel-drive system of the newly-unveiled SUV has the capability to deliver a 550 kW (750 hp) output; with the electronically-limited top speed of the vehicle being 250 km/h.
Sharing details about the battery pack of the new Mercedes-Maybach all-electric SUV concept, Mercedes-Benz said the vehicle is equipped with an 80 kWh battery pack which is placed underneath its floor. The battery pack, as per the automaker, can offer a “NEDC range of over 500 kilometres (according to EPA: over 200 miles).”
Highlighting the fact that the ‘The Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury’ is “an ultra-modern SUV of three-box design,” Daimler AG’s Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener said that the vehicle remarkably combines the DNAs of an SUV and a saloon. Wagener also described the all-electric SUV concept as “a timeless vehicle” which boasts sensuality and pure sophistication, and “underscores the position of Mercedes-Maybach as the ultimate luxury brand.”
